STEEL PROPHET - BOOK OF THE DEAD (*Pre-Owned CD, 2001, Nuclear Blast) Melodic power metal!
Well cared for
CUSTOMER REVIEW
I just witnessed Steel Prophet live [...] opening for the mighty Helstar (who were incredible!) and they completely floored me. I've never seen a power metal band put on such an energetic performance in my life. Having had heard "Messiah" and thinking it was just "alright", seeing them live has put their recorded material into a whole new light. I immediately picked up the new one (that very evening at the merch table, in fact) took it home, and have been spinning it since. Very much their own band, Steel Prophet do occasionally bring to mind Andi Deris era Helloween, executing classy, heartful USPM with taste and thought. The vocals are terrific, the playing on the dime, and the concepts always interesting. I'd strongly advise you to try and check this band out live; they were actually fun to watch, which is a scarce thing in metal.
