Brutal Planet Records continues the Metal Icon Series with two essential chapters from Florida underground pioneers Nasty Savage.
Long before Florida became synonymous with death metal, Nasty Savage were carving out a darker, theatrical strain of American thrash. Originally released on Metal Blade Records in 1985, 1987, and 1988, these recordings helped lay the foundation for what would soon erupt across the Tampa/Sarasota scene.
Both titles have been carefully restored and remastered by Rob Colwell (Flotsam, Helstar, Geoff Tate, Nevermore) and are presented in highly limited collector editions.

Originally released in 1985 on Metal Blade Records, Nasty Savage was chaotic, theatrical, and ahead of its time. While the Bay Area refined technical thrash, Florida cultivated something darker and more volatile. This album captured that moment in raw, unfiltered form.
Featuring the manic vocal intensity of Ronnie “Nasty Ronnie” Galetti and the thunderous drumming of Curtis Beeson—who would later perform with Death—the debut blended speed, atmosphere, and unhinged stage energy into something genuinely dangerous.
The band’s appearance on Metal Massacre VI cemented their underground credibility, and members of Morbid Angel and Obituary have cited Nasty Savage as part of the early Florida foundation.
