AZMAVETH - STRONG AS DEATH (*NEW-CD, 2008, Bombworks) Prog Black/Death Metal from Puerto Rico!
CUSTOMER REVIEW
Azmaveth has alot of potential to be one of the leading melodic Unblack/death bands, and I honestly think that if they changed up a few things, then they could easily be put into that catagory. Don't mistake me, because this album is brutal, melodic, and most of the time, super fast. Blastbeats that'll slaughter you. Seriously. The guitars are pretty much flawless in hitting every note, and the melody is demanding and straightforward. The only real problem that I have with this album is that the drums are a slight bit too loud, and tend to be signaled out more than the guitars. The drums are smooth, but still a little too sharp, and the drum bridges are always bassey [they try to bridge riffs with drum solos, but it doesn't work out to well for 'em}. That, and every song has an interlude, which tend to get annoying. Without those minor glitches it would be an even better album then it already is. This IS a band to add to your collection though, especially if you crank it up on a good stereo. It murders!
