This is a fantastic album. I don't care what anybody says.
There is some real bite to this album. Dylan is inspired and on a roll at this point. Shot of love is a rock song that any real rock music lover would have been happy to write. dead man dead man and groom still waiting at the alter are also great rock songs. You will hear/read peopel weeping and moaning that this album is not a good album and waffle on about filler etc etc... that's rubbish. The only reason some folks may not like this album is there are references to Jesus on here.
In reality this is up there with dylan's best works. Is it hwy 61? no, but several songs could easily slide in there. blood on the tracks? no, but there are songs on here that would not have hurt that album etc etc.
Don't believe the detractors. if you like dylan and the name of Jesus doesn't offend you get this album.
Bob Dylan – Shot Of Love (*NEW-CD, Sony) Epic Early Jesus Music - Must-Have!
The Gospel trilogy from Bob is worth having even if you reject the Truth. Great songs!
