DARKNESS BEFORE DAWN - KING'S TO YOU (*NEW-CD, 2009, Bombworks) Modern Death Metal!

CUSTOMER REVIEW
Blackened death metal with some refreshing breakdowns incorporated within some of the songs, but not overdone. Breakdowns are way overdone in todays music scene, and it's been awhile since I heard some done with originality. Alot of bands just annoy me with the same old breakdowns as I've heard a thousand times, but Darkness before dawn has some good originality. Also, they have some very good melodies and the guitars are very understandable and the drums sound great. If it wasn't for their blackened death aspects, then I would say they sound more deathcore, but...it is blackened death(with symphonic layers as well that don't take over the guitars). Very different, and although it took a few listens to get my attention, it grew on me pretty nicely. The only thing I was disappointed in was that it came in digipak form.
