San Antonio, Texas Christian metal band BECOMING SONS unleashes Refined By The Flames, a powerful new EP combining the aggression of modern metalcore with thrash influences, melodic hooks and a message rooted in hope, redemption and spiritual transformation.
Formed in 2015, Becoming Sons has developed a distinctive sound the band calls "metalpraisecore" - a collision of heavy riffs, crushing rhythms, melody and faith that refuses to separate the intensity of metal from the message behind the music.
The band's name draws inspiration from Romans 8:12-14, reflecting the theme of transformation that runs through their music. At the heart of Becoming Sons is a desire to bring a message of hope to the hopeless, delivered with the kind of energy and conviction that has become the band's calling card both on record and on stage.

Becoming Sons has steadily built a following through a combination of hard-hitting releases and high-energy live performances, bringing together elements of metalcore, thrash and melodic modern metal.
Their 2020 single "Illuminate" reached #1 on the Loud CMW (Christian Music Weekly) chart and remained there for an impressive 16 consecutive weeks.
The band continued building momentum with "Awakened" in early 2024 and "Dead Church" later that year, followed by their heavy Christmas reworking, "Hark! The Herald Angels Scream." The holiday track became another major CMW success, spending months at #1 and further establishing Becoming Sons as a force in modern Christian metal.
Now Refined By The Flames brings that momentum together in one focused eight-track release, including "Dead Church," "Awakened," "Hidden Truth" and the title track.
