By the late 1980s, Nasty Savage were no longer just the wild Florida upstarts who shocked the underground with their feral 1985 debut—they were evolving.

Originally released on Metal Blade Records, Indulgence (1987) marked a turning point. The chaos of the early years sharpened into tighter arrangements, darker atmosphere, and more ambitious songwriting. The riffs became more precise. The structures more progressive. The mood more ominous. Yet the theatrical unpredictability that defined Nasty Savage remained front and center, driven by Ronnie “Nasty Ronnie” Galetti’s unhinged and dramatic vocal attack.

This definitive CD edition unites the complete 1987 Indulgence LP with the 1988 Abstract Reality EP—two crucial chapters in Florida metal history presented together for the first time in this restored format.

The band’s earlier appearance on Metal Massacre VI helped establish them as part of the American underground elite, but it was this era that cemented their regional influence. Members of Morbid Angel and Obituary have cited Nasty Savage as part of the early Florida foundation, and drummer Curtis Beeson would later perform with Death—a direct line connecting this material to the rise of the Florida death metal movement.

Musically, the material balances razor-edged thrash intensity with theatrical flair reminiscent of King Diamond, while maintaining the aggression and technicality fans of Slayer and Dark Angel expect.
