About Babylon A.D.
Formed in 1987 in the San Francisco Bay Area, Babylon A.D. quickly made a name for themselves with powerful live performances and infectious songwriting. Originally performing as The Persuaders, they caught the attention of Clive Davis, who signed them to Arista Records in 1989 after an explosive live showcase.
Their self-titled 1990 debut included the hard rock staples “Bang Go the Bells,” “Hammer Swings Down,” and “The Kid Goes Wild” (featured in RoboCop 2 with comedian Sam Kinison). The album went gold, spent 38 weeks on the Billboard Top 200, and delivered three #1 songs at metal radio. Their 1992 follow-up, Nothing Sacred, produced by Tom Werman, brought more fan favorites including “Bad Blood” and “So Savage the Heart.”
Through the 90s and 2000s the band released Live in Your Face (1999), American Blitzkrieg (2002), and In the Beginning (2008). After regrouping in 2014, they issued the EP Lost Sessions and signed to Frontiers Records for Revelation Highway.
Recent years saw the release of Live Lightning (2023) and the 5th studio album Rome Wasn’t Built In A Day (2024). Now, with When The World Stops in 2025, Babylon A.D. once again proves that true hard rock never dies.
