Fear Not developed from the earlier band Love Life, whose Goodbye Lady Jane album established the musicians in the Christian hard rock scene. With a new name and musical identity, Fear Not delivered a tougher, heavier sound while retaining the strong melodies and memorable hooks that made their earlier work appealing.
The result was Fear Not, originally released in the early 1990s and subsequently embraced by collectors and fans of melodic Christian hard rock.
Musically, the album lands in that sweet spot where early-'90s hard rock muscle meets big melodies and an unmistakably faith-centered lyrical approach. The guitars have plenty of bite, the choruses stick, and the band brings enough grit to distinguish the record from the more polished side of the era's melodic rock scene.
