PLUSH - PLUSH (*NEW-CD, Absolute Records) Mick Rowe of Tempest / Goliath!
CUSTOMER REVIEW
When I ordered this CD from Columbia House, I had no idea who these guys were or even what they sounded like. I got it because the CD review made it sound like it was something I'd like to hear. (That, and it was free.) I don't usually take gambles like that, but since it's Christian music, I knew it would be worth at least a listen. And what do you know; the gamble paid off! I enjoyed this album a lot. Their alternative/rock sound is rather similar to the Goo Goo Dolls, but Plush has a passionate edge that sets them a cut above. There's a good mix of up-tempo stuff and slower, ballad-type songs, with a twist of hardcore thrown in at the end. (Chase it with a helping of Plumb's second album and you've got yourself an evening!) The only real drawback to this CD is that it's too short; barely half an hour, but a great listen nonetheless. (Hopefully these guys will stick around!)
