ABOUT THE ALBUM
Formed in Indiana in 1985, SERAIAH quickly established itself as one of the Midwest's most exciting and ambitious Christian hard rock and heavy metal bands. By the summer of 1988, the group had outgrown the regional club circuit and appeared at the legendary Metal Fest in Decatur, Illinois alongside Bride, Sacred Warrior, and Vengeance. Their breakthrough performance helped earn the band a recording contract with Pure Metal Records.
Originally released in 1990, Carnival World captured Seraiah firing on all cylinders. Blistering guitar work, soaring vocal melodies, massive choruses, memorable hooks, and plenty of attitude combined into an album that has become one of the hidden gems of the Christian metal era. Often compared to the raw energy and swagger of early Mötley Crüe, Seraiah blended melody and muscle into a sound that remains compelling more than three decades later.
Now, 36 years after its original release, Carnival World returns in its most complete form ever.
The album has been completely remixed by Jeffrey Gardner of Plus One Audio Services and remastered by Rob Colwell, bringing greater clarity, power, depth, and dynamics to the recordings while preserving the spirit and intensity of the original performances.
The deluxe presentation features all-new artwork and a 36-page booklet containing more than 100 previously unpublished photographs from the band's personal archives, along with an extensive historical essay by music historian Arttie Parker.
The CD edition also includes six exclusive live soundboard recordings, capturing Seraiah on stage and featuring guitarist Quinton Gibson along with some of bassist Tracy Ferrie's earliest recorded performances with the band before his later work with Stryper and Boston.
More than a simple reissue, this Definitive Edition finally gives Carnival World the sound, presentation, and historical treatment this overlooked Christian metal classic has long deserved.
