Formed in Finland in the early 2000s, the band originally began as a tribute to the crushing groove of Six Feet Under, performing covers of the Chris Barnes–fronted death metal legends. But what started as a fan-driven project quickly evolves into something far more serious—and fate soon brings the band face-to-face with one of their biggest influences.
That turning point comes when **Chris Barnes himself joins Torture Killer to record vocals on their 2006 album Swarm! **. Released through Metal Blade Records, the album showcases the perfect collision of Barnes’ unmistakable growl with the band’s crushing, groove-heavy riff attack. The result is a vicious slab of old-school death metal that instantly connects with fans of Barnes’ work and the wider extreme metal underground.
Despite the band’s origins as a cover act, Swarm! features all original material—ten relentless tracks of brutal, riff-driven death metal.
