🔥 About the Album – Leviticus: MMXXIV
More than 40 years after forming in Sweden, Christian heavy metal pioneers LEVITICUS reunite their original lineup for MMXXIV – four completely new songs featuring Björn Stigsson, Håkan Andersson, and Kjell Andersson. Recorded entirely in Swedish, this 2024 EP returns to the band's earliest roots with classic 1980s-inspired hard rock, powerful guitars, memorable melodies, and an unmistakable Christian message.
Founded in Skövde, Sweden, in 1981, Leviticus became one of the pioneering bands of European Christian heavy metal. Led by guitarist and songwriter Björn Stigsson, the group developed an international following through classic albums including I Shall Conquer, The Strongest Power, Setting Fire to the Earth, and Knights of Heaven. Their music blended traditional heavy metal with melodic hard rock and lyrics rooted in Christian faith.
For MMXXIV, Stigsson reunites with original bassist and lead vocalist Håkan Andersson and drummer Kjell Andersson. The four newly written songs – "Med Lyfta Händer," "Jag Fäster Blicken," "Fyll Dina Tankar," and "Leva Livet" – address praise, forgiveness, faith, and hope. Musically, the original trio delivers the guitar-driven Swedish hard rock sound that established Leviticus more than four decades earlier.
Written by Björn Stigsson, arranged by Leviticus, and produced, recorded, mixed, and mastered at BTS Studios, MMXXIV represents a new chapter for the band's original lineup. Released in October 2024 by Talking Music, this limited-edition Swedish import CD comes packaged in a digipak and offers longtime Leviticus fans four fresh recordings from the musicians who started it all.
